Shirley Vallery Crews

Duly Re-Elected on June 18th, 2022 – Present Day

I am Shirley Vallery Crews a 4-year council member of the Apalachee tribe. I am a 4th generation descendent of Solomon Vallery. My great grandfather was Thomas Jefferson Vallery Sr, and my grandfather was Thomas Jefferson Vallery Sr. From Cloutierville, La. I have 1 sibling, Nichole Vallery Gore. I am married to Wiltz Crews of 42 years and we have 2 girls. Courtney Weidner of Pineville, La and Heather Cauvin of Carlyss, La. Courtney has 2 children, McKenzie and Luke Weidner. Heather has 1 son, Brody Cauvin. My father’s family has a picture located in the museum of Mission San Luis in Tallahassee Florida. We always knew we belonged to the tribe, but we could never get on a roll for membership until around 5 years ago.
My goal for our tribe is to gain state recognition to so everyone knows we exist.
