My name is Lenore Troquille. I have been married to my husband, Dewayne Troquille for 46 years. We have 2 sons, Brian Troquille (43) and Matthew Troquille (34). We also have 3 grandchildren ages ranging from 3 to7. I have lived in Dickinson, Texas the last 45 years. I have been involved in everything that my children have done. They both went to catholic school thru 8th grade and both of them were in Boy Scouts, USA. I’ve was very active with my sons by being room mother all thru both there years at the catholic school, den leader, treasurer, cub master when they were in the scouts, and president of their summer swim league team.
My grandmother was Mellisa Vallery Kerry. Growing up, we were told that we were Indian but my grandmother spoke of it very little. After she passed, my grandfather, Thad Kerry, began to talk to us about our heritage. As we have learned more and more, I was very interested in getting involved with the tribe. I became a council member in 2018 and have attended every meeting since then. I then became tribal secretary when the previous one had to step down because of family issues back in 2023. As the time being, I offer the tribe to use my house that I have in Gorum, LA to hold all our meetings.
My goals moving forward is for the tribe to secure a headquarters and property, to be able to have fundraiser, and have our own museum so that generations can visit and learn more about their ancestors.
